Georgia College History

History

Part of today's Kilpatrick Education Center, the Teacher Training Building and Auditorium were constructed in 1939 to be a part of Peabody Laboratory School, a K-12 school located on campus that provided education students an opportunity to student teach. The school was closed in 1970. Today Peabody Auditorium is used for a variety of purposes, but primarily as a site to host lectures and events, as well as a place for students take standardized tests. Georgia College's Early College program is located next door in the old Peabody School.
