In February 2007  President Leland announced the purchase of the old Campus Theatre. The plans were drawn to restore the Art Deco facade and carefully bring the marquee, doors, and ticket booth to their original condition. Rather than continue its use as a movie theater, the inside would be redesigned to provide a black box performance theater, faculty offices, up-to-date classrooms, acting labs, and a wardrobe closet. The basement was renovated for the GC book store.
