Faculty Library Resources

An overview of Russell Library resources pertinent to Georgia College faculty.

What is Resource Sharing?

Resource Sharing is what happens when libraries work as partners to share their collection resources with each other. This allows each institution to provide more resources to their patrons.

Russell Library participates in Resource Sharing via two services: GIL Express and Interlibrary Loan. GIL Express is limited to books, and the partners involved are limited to the libraries from the institutions that make up the University System of Georgia (USG). Interlibrary Loan is open to almost any type of material possible to loan, and the partners include any library from any institution around the world who is willing to lend their resources.

GIL Express is the fastest method to borrow books; most requests arrive within two (2) business days. Interlibrary Loan's timing varies depending on type of item and/or distance from the lending institution.
