Bridges files contain 13 cubic feet, largely regarding research Bridges, a former assistant postmaster of the Sandersville, Georgia, post office conducted on the historical boundaries of Washington County, the location and years active of current and former post offices, the workings of the post office under the governments of the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, and information on Georgia history as it related to the development of mail service in the state of Georgia. The collection also contains maps and 9 books that Bridges found particularly useful when conducting his research.
