H.I. Bridges files

​Henry Irwin Bridges, Jr. was a former assistant postmaster of the Sandersville, Georgia, post office and a bank officer with the George D. Warthen Bank. Born in 1920, Bridges served in the Navy during World War II and earned the nickname "Spud." Upon returning to Sandersville, he worked at the post office. He was also a warden of Grace Episcopal Church and was a member of the Rotary Club. After retiring from the post office, Bridges worked at the bank and spent his free time researching the history of the post office in Washington, County. Bridges died in 2011 at the age of 90.
