Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
This paper has reviewed a total of 25 journal articles, regarding the percentage of workplace SH victims, the society's stance on it, the characteristics of victims, the criterion to judge Sexual Harassment, the influences of SH perceptions, the influences for the intention of SH intervention, the consequences of SH on victims and the effects of implementing training and policies.
Pregnancy Discrimination in the Workplace
In 1964, Title VII didn’t cover pregnancy under sex discrimination and didn’t allow pregnant women to collect any assistance under private employer disability plans. A General Electric case claimed that excluding pregnancy related claims from disability insurance was not gender specific, but was a way to keep insurance plans solvent. Eventually this made it to the Supreme Court, which deemed their actions unconstitutional and created the Pregnancy Discrimination Act which gave Title VII rights to pregnant women. This was passed in 1978.
