Read and Publish Agreements allow the library to acquire publishing permissions we purchase journal access. In such arrangements, in addition to obtaining the right to read content from specific journals, GCSU faculty may publish their research in those journals via an open access model. The payment of Article Publishing Charges (APCs) is not required when the article appears in a publication covered by the agreement.
GCSU currently has two Read and Publish Agreements.
American Chemical Society - Under this agreement, GCSU faculty can publish their research open access in any ACS journal under a CC BY open access license.
Under this agreement, authors who choose to publish open access will have their research automatically sent for deposit in PubMed Central. Authors are also allowed to deposit their accepted manuscript in the Knowledge Box, GCSU's institutional repository.
Some federal agencies require researchers to make a version of their publication available in an open access repository immediately upon publication. If your funder has such a requirement, publishing via GCSU's ACS Read and Publish Agreement meets that requirement.

Elsevier - Authors can publish eligible articles open access in a wide variety of participating Elsevier journals across a range of disciplines.
Under this agreement, authors do not have to pay an Article Publishing Charge (APC) when publishing in eligible hybrid journals, as the cost to publish is covererd under the terms of the agreement.
