Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What do I do?

  • Answer: Choose one or more articles from the GC Reads list to read. You are encouraged to read more than one

Question: I am being asked to login in. What is my username and password?

  • Answer: You may be prompted to enter your Unify credentials for certain items. This is the same login you use for your bobcats email, PAWS and Georgia View.

Question: Do I need to pick a specific article based on my major?

  • Answer: No! Read whichever article or articles that spark your interest.

Question: What is a micro seminar and when can I sign up for one?

  • Answer: A micro-seminar is the academic component of GC Reads and Week of Welcome. Students will gather in small groups facilitated by faculty and staff to engage in interactive and reflective discussion.
Signups for micro-seminars will open on August 1st

Question: On the registration page for the micro-seminars, I see "Sections" listed. What does that mean? Do I need to sign up for a specific one?

  • Answer: A micro-seminar section is a way for you to be able to choose the article you want to discuss while still keeping the discussion group small enough to have meaningful conversations. You only need to choose one section, hopefully for the article you want to discuss.
