Chemistry 1311: Principles of Chemistry: Citations and Full-Text Availability

Instructions

  1. Look up citation and full-text availability in each database. Indicate which database and the years covered for each journal.
  2. A full-text resource differs from citation data in that it includes the full text of the articles rather than just the article citation information and abstract.

Go to Galileo. Under “GALILEO databases” search for each database by name:

Academic Search Complete and Science & Technology Collection

For Academic Search Complete and Science & Technology Collection click on “Publications” in the blue header bar. Search for each journal. If the journal information says “bibliographic records,” then that database only has citation information. If it says “bibliographic records” AND “full text” then it has full text as well as citation information.

American Chemical Society

For American Chemical Society Journals (and the Legacy Archives), click on “ACS Publications” in the blue header bar. Under “Browse Publications,” choose “List View” and find a journal.

The library's subscription to ACS is all access, so any journal in this database is full-text.

Research Library (ProQuest)

For Research Library (ProQuest), click on “Publications” in the teal header bar. Search for each journal. If the journal information says “citation/abstract coverage,” then that database only has citation information for that journal. If it says “citation/abstract coverage” AND “full text coverage” then it has full text as well as citation information.

JSTOR

For JSTOR, click on “Browse” and then "by title." To browse, simply click the letter that each journal starts with.

When you find the journal, click on the journal title. The range will be listed.

Any journals from your list in this database are full-text.
