OpenAthens: Access

How to access Galileo off-campus

How to Log In

On January 21, the Ina Dillard Russell Library will go live with OpenAthens. OpenAthens is a new, more secure way to access library and GALILEO resources using your existing Unify credentials. The Galileo password will no longer be needed!

What will change?

You will now be able to use your Unify credentials to access library resources when off campus.

While on campus, you’ll continue to login into library databases via Galileo automatically.

  1. Log into Unify with your credentials
  2. Select the Start Here tab if you do not have access to the Faculty or Staff tabs
  3. Select the GALILEO link

Logging in grants you access to Galileo, where you can find articles, newspapers, photos, videos, and more.

If you have any issues or questions, contact the library at 478-445-4047 or email the library at circ@gcsu.edu.
