The inclusive dates of this collection are 1588 to 2001, with bulk dates ranging from 1900 to 1970. These materials vary in size with the majority being oversized. Most of the maps in this collections are original with a few reproductions. The collection includes maps from all over the world but with a focus on U.S. and, specifically, Georgia. The Georgia history maps are primarily arranged by county, including general highway maps, trail and state park maps, coastal maps,and zoning maps. Other maps outside of Georgia include U.S. Department of Agricuture soil maps from several states, landmarks, state parks, and river maps from around the country, as well as international maps of places such as South America (southern and eastern), Central America, West Indies, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland.
