Clyde E. Keeler Collection

Scope and Content

The Clyde E. Keeler Collection focuses primarily on his work in medical genetics. They include his work regarding a single-gene mutation in the retina of mouse eyes, albinism in humans, and problems caused by genetics in mental patients. Other materials include writings by Keeler and other authors on the Cuna Indians, and photographs and items related to Keeler's interest in pre-1492 visits to America by European cultures. The inclusive dates of the collection are 1923-1993, while the bulk of the collection covers the period between 1923 and 1973.

Series 1 contains manuscripts and papers (published and unpublished).

Series 2 consists of Clyde Keeler's personal library.  

Series 3 includes objects.
