GC1Y 1000 The Capital Punishment Debate: Course Info

Georgia has been at the center of the capital punishment debate since the 1970s and continues to be, particularly as related to racial and socio-economic biases surrounding criminals given the death penalty. This course explores the history of the death penalty and current practices of capital punishment. The personal perspective of death row inmates is examined, as well as errors in the justice system with regards to death sentences. A special focus is given to death row offenders in Georgia, specifically Baldwin County.
