This guide is designed to support the "Black Body and the Law" lecture series sponsored by the Africana Studies Program and the Russell Library. It is meant to serve as a jumping-off point for students and faculty to gain a better understanding of the relationship between African Americans and the legal system. It also provides information on the events related to the deaths of Mike Brown, Eric Garner and Walter Scott and the subsequent protests and unrest in Ferguson, New York City, and across the United States. Additionally, it collects resources that may be used by Georgia College faculty to teach on this issue and related topics in their courses.
