Workshop Information

Time Allotment: Approx. 50 minutes

Description:  This workshop will help you navigate your publishing contract and secure your rights as a scholarly author. We will discuss common clauses in publishing contracts -- such as the Grants clause -- that describe which rights you retain and which you relinquish to the publisher. We will also discuss how to make changes to your publishing contract. This workshop is geared towards faculty, but students are welcome to attend.

Learning Objectives:

  • Familiarize faculty with the various clauses in a publishing contract.
  • Learn how to create an addendum to a publishing contract.
  • Understand what Open Access is and how to ensure the right to deposit work in the Knowledge Box.
