After participating in the information literacy instruction for this course, students should be able to do the following:

  1.  Locate and evaluate historical census information about cities, counties, and towns in order to determine whether or not a town qualifies as a “Sundown Town.”
  2. Locate, request and use local histories and newspapers in order to determine if declines in the non-white population in a town between censuses can be explained by any actions taken by whites.
