The Atlanta Area Bibliographic Instruction Group (AABIG or BIG) began in the early 1980s as an informal way for instruction librarians from academic, K-12, public, and special libraries in the greater Atlanta area to share ideas and discuss common issues about bibliographic instruction. They hold an annual conference to discuss best practices in teaching information literacy.

The Access Services Conference is an opportunity for individuals working in all areas of Access Services in libraries to gather information and communicate with other professionals about circulation, reserves, interlibrary loan, student worker management, security, and other topics of interest.

The mission of the Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy is to provide the opportunity to share research and best methods related to teaching, learning, and assessing essential lifelong learning skills.

This year’s GIL Users Group Meeting seeks to expand and strengthen those connections built through GIL and ALMA integration. It will continue the open-proposal format, and this year’s agenda will reflect the GIL community’s interests and best practices in sessions carefully selected from proposals. Session strands include Access, Acquisitions, Cataloging, Fulfillment, OPAC, and Special Collections.

LILAC is the Librarians’ Information Literacy Annual Conference and is a firm favourite in the calendar of information professionals.

The Workshop for Instruction in Library Use (WILU) is Canada’s only conference devoted to library instruction, information literacy, and information fluency.

The field of human information behaviour and practice is multi-disciplinary in scope: researchers from information science, information management, management science, psychology, social psychology, sociology, information systems, computer science, and other disciplines all contribute to this field of investigation. ISIC: the Information Behaviour Conference intends to reflect this interdisciplinary character through attracting papers from researchers in all of these areas.

ECIL is an annual conference initiated by the Department of Information Management of Hacettepe University and the Department of Information and Communication Sciences of Zagreb University. It is organized and hosted by a different European partner each year.

Formerly known as the Off-Campus Library Services Conference, the Distance Library Services Conference is a biennial event that has been in existence since 1982. RBMS held its first preconference (now conference) in 1959, and since 1961 has held an annual conference in conjunction with the ALA annual conference.

What is the Multi-State Virtual Library Conference?

The State libraries in Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, and Maryland have partnered together to offer the first-ever multi-state library virtual conference on Wednesday, August 16, 9 am- 3pm MT, 10 am - 4 pm CT, and 11 am - 5 pm ET on the topic of Community Building. We will explore how libraries are working in their communities to bring about positive change around a shared vision or goal.
