Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (or resource sharing) is the process through which one library requests material from, or supplies material to, another library.

To access your Interlibrary Loan account now, click for the Interlibrary Loan login page.

Eligible Georgia College library patrons may use Interlibrary Loan to borrow a variety of physical materials, such as:

  • books
  • DVDs and/or VHS video cassettes
  • sound recordings (CDs, LP records, audio cassettes)
  • microfilms

Patrons may also use Interlibrary Loan to receive digital copies of articles that are owned by another library.

PLEASE NOTE: Interlibrary Loan requests for physical items will experience delays based on availability of items in other libraries and/or delivery over distances. Interlibrary Loan for digital resources are the fastest resources eligible to be borrowed, with delivery online for those resources. We thank you for your understanding and patience.

Interlibrary Loan enables library staff to search large numbers of libraries at once, borrow or lend to libraries from several miles to thousands of miles away, expanding access to other local, state, national and international libraries.

Before using Georgia College's Interlibrary Loan services:

  1. Search the Georgia College Catalog
  2. Search the University System of Georgia Catalog
  3. Search the Journal Locator

If you have performed these steps, but still can't locate what you need:

Visit the online Interlibrary Loan request Form. If this is the first time you are using Interlibrary Loan, you will be required to activate your Interlibrary Loan account. This may be done by clicking the link to the Interlibrary Loan request form.
