Student Worker Research Training: Basic Research Questions

Finding a Book

Sometimes patrons have very simple research questions.  For instance, they may be looking for a particular book and need help determining whether the library owns a copy.  You should be able to answer the patron's question by simply going to the Library Homepage and consulting the Library Catalog.

Let's say a patron asks for help locating a copy of A Good Man is Hard to Find by Flannery O'Connor.  Simply go to the Library Homepage (www.gcsu.edu/library) and access the catalog via the menu on the left.

Once you're inside the library catalog, you can go to the Advanced Search to search for the book by title and/or author.

Once you click Find, you will get a list of library titles that match your search terms.
