Guide to Finding eBooks on EBSCOhost

2 Options for Downloading eBooks from EBSCOhost

How to get an eBook onto your iPad

You cannot transfer an EBSCO eBook directly to your iPad device from Adobe Digital editions.  If you want to transfer the eBook to an iPad you will need to download a third party application, like BlueFire.

  • Download the BlueFire Reader app onto your iPad
  • Open BlueFire on your iPad and authorize the app to enable Adobe eBooks. This requires signing in with your Adobe ID and password (if it doesn’t appear automatically this is entered under Info on the BlueFire app). If you do not have an Adobe ID you can create a free account here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/membership/index.cfm
  • Go to Ebooks on EBSCOhost
  • Click download offline for the book you have selected
  • Sign in with your My EBSCOhost user name and password. If you do not have a My EBSCOhost account you will need to create one on the login page. This is free and easy to do
  • Choose how many days you would like to checkout the book and select Checkout & Download
  • The book should automatically open in your BlueFire Reader (or if you have multiple eReader apps you will need to select which one you would like to use).

*This process should also work for the Android and Kindle Fire
